Hi,

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, have tried researching via other threads here and in mediaportal forum.

Have been using NextPVR for a while who's EPG updates fine "over the air". Decided to try MediaPortal ... first MediaPortal2 and then now MediaPortal1 but have an issue on both with the EPG. Essentially, while I get some program descriptions in English, for the most part all titles and the remaining descriptions are all in special characters.

Pretty standard setup, haven't done anything particularly special in terms of settings. Have tried it both with English selected as the language and no language selected. Have tried refreshing the EPG several times but still the same result.

What am I missing to get it working simply over the air? Or do I need to all back to using the XML tv guide setup?

NZ's Huffman encoded EIT EPG wasn't supported in Media Portal the last time this was discussed on here a few months ago. I have no idea if anything has changed since but one could assume the fact it's not working for you indicates it's probably not.

Ahhh ok, I do vaguely remember reading something about that ... ok, all good, will do it the XML way then.

Thanks!
