thekiwi: was testing last night against MP1.10 RC1 and RC2(SVN) with the TVServer running and all was good. Silly question but - did you have any recordings occuring or timeshifting/live tv at the time? Also can you provide your OS / patch details. Also, Steve sent me your log and from the looks of it you are only trying MHEG. Could you try EIT (I don't expect it to work - but just want to be certain). Sorry if I am asking for stuff you've already provided :-(

SJB: I had a similar problem when I was testing the Sky EPG collection. That's why, if you look at the Sky ini file the frequencies are out of order. I discovered that all the frequencies after a certain frequency failed but when I put the last one that worked at the end they all worked.

I should have asked you to put the first one last so try 57 then 66 then 53.

Steve

Ok, tried changing the order to 57, 66, 53, but it still cant lock signal on second frequency. Also tried EIT, but just the same problem. Both tuners were not in use at the time.

Any updates on the Windows 7 front? I am currently using the EPG Collector on my Windows Home Server and running Big Screen EPG to load the XML from the share.

streamz: I've got over the 'not locked' problem I mentioned I had on Sky by changing the code to try repeating the failing frequency (max 3 times).

I'm testing on satellite though - could you pm me an email address where I could send you a test version to see if it's ok on terrestrial.

Hi SJB I've a new feature request for your application
Would it be posible to add an option to override the default ones with custom user supplied ones from an ini

I do this remapping in the EPG so the Channels can be imported into GBpvr or 7MCE with out post re-mappings
It's just make life a little simplier and tidier with Viewing apps setup, guides and remotes.

E.G. your apps default mheg5 output
channel id="1200"
display-nameTV ONEdisplay-name
channel id="1201"
display-nameTV2display-name
etc
to for example
channel id="1"
display-nameTV1display-name
channel id="2"
display-nameTV2display-name
etc

Obviously all the User supplied remapps have to be unique.
I currently use DJKXML's overrides and ReplChanID.exe to do this at the moment in a batch file but it's a little messy.

Maybe change the Station parameter so it becomes something like

Station:serviceID,Ignore to exclude the station
Station:serviceID,nnnn to remap to nnnn

The current format could be retained and default to ignore.

Yes SJB your suggested remap would work well for me, and backwards compatible as well.
any chance of re mapping the displayname too?

Station:serviceID,Ignore to exclude the station
Station:serviceID,nnnn to remap to nnnn,WXYZ

Thank you for looking at this one so quickly

MCEAbused: Yes that would be fine. Thinking about it we can dispense with the Ignore option which could be assumed if you just put Station:serviceID.

Also if you omit the new name it could use the name from the broadcaster.

Hi Brad
Have sent you a PM, but they show as unread ... so not sure you are getting them.
Have sent you an Email and am happy to test on my machine here a debug version.
Cheers

Craig

Hi there,
great work on the EPG Collector project btw.

Just wanted to give you more positive feedback.

Using newest EPG Collector from Sourceforge.
Microsoft XP Pro + SP3
Mediaportal V1.0.2 (fresh install with MySQL database)

Dunedin specific epgcollector.ini

# Output - specifies the path of the output file. Default is XMLTV.xml in the executable directory.

Output:Freeview MHEG.xml

# Tuner - specifies number of tuner to use. Only needed if more than one tuner. Default is to use first available.
# Run utility with command line /tuners to get list of tuners and numbers.

Tuner:1

# Timeouts - in seconds - optional - defaults are 10 and 300 respectively
# Param1 - maximum wait time to lock signal after tuning
# Param2 - length of time to collect data before changing frequency

Timeouts:10,300

# Satellite - comment or remove whole line for terrestrial
# Param1 - longitude in tenths of a degree (east assumed)

# Satellite:1600

# Dish - comment or remove whole line for terrestrial
# Param1 - LNB low band
# Param2 - LNB high band
# Param3 - LNB switch

# Dish:9750000,10750000,11700000

# Frequencies for satellite
# Param1 - frequency
# Param2 - symbol rate
# Param3 - FEC
# Param4 - Polarization (H = horizontal ,V = vertical, L = circular left, R = circular right
# Param5 - Y = collect MHEG data if present N = only collect EIT data (MHEG data only present on NZ Freeview frequencies at the moment.
# Parameter has no effect on frequencies not carrying MHEG data but must be present)

# Frequency:12456000,22500,3/4,H,Y
# Frequency:12483000,22500,3/4,H,Y

# Frequencies for terrestrial
# Param1 - frequency
# Param2 - bandwidth
# Param3 - Y = collect MHEG data if present N = only collect EIT data (MHEG data only present on NZ Freeview frequencies at the moment.
# Parameter has no effect on frequencies not carrying MHEG data but must be present)

Frequency:650000,8,Y
Frequency:666000,8,Y
Frequency:730000,8,Y

# TV Stations - Excluded stations list - any station in this list WILL BE IGNORED
# Param1 - Frequency
# Param2 - Service ID

#Station:12483000,1909

Added the appropriate frequencies, eventually got the xml file to generate, renamed to tvguide.xml and copied to Mediaportal TV Server folder, enabled XMLtv in TV Server config, saved and loaded mediaportal and the EPG was present.

So again awesome work on this project :)

thanks

Chris
