Hi there

Can I see how most people are getting the EPG into MediaPortal for DTT channels? I also have a DVB-S tuner and would have thought that the easiest way would be to map the EPG from those channels onto the DVB-T channel, however this doesn't seem to be an option.

Can others tell me what and how they do it? There seems to be a lot of sifferent ways so want the easiest and cleanest method.

EPG Collector is probably the easiest way.

I think you need to make sure your dvbs card is the lowest priority in the tvserver setup.
Then scan in the channels on all dvbs and dvbt cards.
From there you need to combine the channels that are the same on both types of cards and that will sort out the epg for those channels.
Not sure what you do for channels that aren't on dvbs.

No need to use the epg collector.

Combine channels, set dvb-s cards to lowest priority and disable epg grabbing on dvb-t cards. Aslo double check that dvb epg grabbing is enabled for each channel. Finally set interval at which you want to grab. Done.

Yep - I'm pleased to say that this worked a treat.

I also got the WebEPG working to grab other channels like Russia Toady and BBC World.

Under Windows 7 MC I would not have been able to easily get these channels into the EPG, and this is one of the distinct advantages of MediaPortal's modular structure.

So despite still having some small issues, like I still need to get the remote control fully functioning, I am sold on MediaPortal.

Another exciting thing is that my location (Gisborne) has just got DTT. Very impressed with the quality difference.

Yeah, it's pretty good ay and good to have multiple sources for one channel, if some goes wrong your UHF you can just carry on with sat without re-configuring anything.
