I signed up last night with no issues at all within 2 minutes. Activation code was sent immediately after sign up and it worked.

I'm glad to have some competition against trademe. Their fee hikes are too much for me to handle. They had huge profits last year and decided to increase general listing fees by 1%. Doesn't sound like much but it all adds up.

freitasm: Just enter 09xxxyyyy without spaces.

Thanks. That seems so obvious now. Only if they had helpers on the form showing an example format, or the form was more clever to accept spaces but strip them out when saving the data. Oh well.

minigopher17: Phone number field is compulsory, but when I enter my number in the format: "09 xxx xxxx" it tells me "That phone number is invalid. Please try again". WTF?!

to be honest (and referring to the other more recent posts on this topic) that has to be one of the most basic, absolute schooboy type errors when designing forms.

It's something that even a non-UX specialist would consider. so the fact that they haven't even done this properly makes me seriously doubt the validity of their claims of the other data being secure.

some wannabe geek is milking the owner ... create a site that keep having problems, keep getting paid more to 'fix' the problems ... GENIUS!

That's a big assumption, usually these things are done on a fixed price and then there is a period of defect fixing and a sign off required, and after that, changes and fixes are charged for.

The vast majority of phone number fields on the web are done like that. Including many if not all NZ based major retail sites. Yes, really horrible. This example seems no worse than many others.

Don't know if it has affected TM's share price at all.

A bit disappointed with the Wheedle management though. It seems they didn't learn from previous failures.

I contacted one of the directores reporting some findings about the password reset procedure, then sent another email retracting the previous one after more tests proved the password reset was worked as intented.

Neither email was acknowledged. So I guess feedback is not something important for them.

The auction I put there is closing today, so I also guess when it closes they lose me as a customer.

Hmm, no matter what option I choose for Region nothing comes up in the district/suburb drop down boxes. A shame as I'm sick of Trademe :-/

Tried when the first launched and have now given them a second chance but it just doesn't work :-) Plus no feedback for any support/contact emails.

Later Wheedle.

Of course the Sella website is fine, might start using that again.

Sounds more like sarcasm than assumption to me...
