G'day geeks,

This seems like the appropriate area to ask for feetback on a project I will launch at the start of August: tootsiebook.co.nz
It's a platform that helps women with larger feet to find shoes in their size. Worldwide.

It allows any shoe merchant to present and sell their stock as well.

If you can be of any help, both commercial or technical: all feetback is welcome!

hmm.. I'd expected some more input ;)

Things are looking quite bright. We'll be working with several new merchants and are right on schedule for the August 1st launch.

I really have nothing to add about womans shoes, or shoes in general since I usually buy them when my current pair is worn out,

But, lots of blank spaces in the nav bar area, a bad looking header and no page footer are the things that jump out at me.

Login page has all the dropdown lists on it pushing the form off the bottom of the window so I had to scroll to see it.

On the register/login page the top banner is offset to the left, the nav stuff to the right and it looks a mess.

Cart (empty) has a dropdown arrow that changes direction when mouse overed for no reason, and takes it to an empty cart when clicked because it is empty, which is pointless because it is empty, and it has the same layout issues as the register/login page.

Your repsonsive design is changing the aspect of the tempory banner at the top making it very hard to read at narrow sizes and the font going ugly too.

Buying shoes overseas is difficult, as manufacturers can vary alot, and it is very important that shoes fit correctly. If they don't it can cost you a lot more in podiatry fees, than any saving you may make. That is why I prefer to buy locally, or if online , only from a store that sells the same exact size and manufacturer as one I already know fits me. Or from an online store that allows you to send them back for alternative sizes.

hey guys, I really appreciate the responses!

I have since removed the top banner, unhooked the shopping cart from the top and the select boxes from the login/signup page. I think less is more in this regard. It also benefits the responsive design on mobile.

Having a Footer would indeed be appropriate on a Foot page. I will dig into that.

It just seems very unfinished to me. Is it really ready for anyone to critique?

A couple of things first.

1. No brand name for the store, just a picture? Seems utterly strange.
2. No contact information.
3. Anonymous domain

Why would anyone buy anything or sell anything through this shop the way its presented today?

Appreciate the response.

Regarding the brand name; this is not a web store, it just has web store capabilities. It's here for people to Search, and Buying will take place elsewhere.

The platform is passing through high amounts of traffic to the individual stores already, and this will only grow. It serves the other stores, and for now, does only that.

As this is not a store, contact information is only relevant for those who choose to open a Seller Account. They will of course be treated as a relationship. Everything else is purely throughput traffic.

Anonymous domain; I think we have discussed this before. A server is not able to open the door, therefore it doesn't need a home address in my opinion. Especially when it doesn't sell anything.

I think minimalism is key these days, both for mobile and desktop sites. I also think many New Zealanders still have to grasp the concept of minimalism. It's all about functionality, the application of an idea.
