simcore: That international speed...

I've just been hooked up to VDSL but have finally made it through the consents process for my MDU apartment.

Up to 90 days to get through design/scope phase before I can jump on Ultra Fast 200 plan myself :)

lol currently on VDSL and only getting about 25mb/s now since moving :( much sad panda

O yes such lucky for yourself, Very sad Panda as of above. I does live with in area that wont get UFB until 2018-2022. But next to me he has le UFB connections. Very sad Pandas here. Only get 49Mbp/s on VDSL.

I thought the 50/20 and 200/50 plans were not released by Chorus as yet? Surely if VF has it, then all ISP's should have it?

What ever happened to the new plans, e.g. scrapping 30/10 and going to 50/20 for the minimum?

if im not mistaken, they only sell 50/20 openly on their site. the 200/50 is still in trial (although ild say it wouldnt be too hard to get in on it..)

My mistake I see it on the consumer stuff, not on business. I don't understand how my ISP is saying that Chorus is telling them it's unreleased.

Snap made a big fuss about them being the first a while back. Maybe 2 months ago! We are all in the dark ages with this treacherous stuff called. VDSL and 100/50 UFB.

This is fibre and we should be talking [speeds of] 100, 250, 500Mbit/s and 1Gbit/s, not 30Mbit/s".
Peoples bad understanding of GPON.. I wouldn't want to be running 1000Mbp/s to each house over a GPON system.. lol But sure, As if 30Mbp/s ISNT enough. If people want more they can pay for more.

Just wondering what sort of Routers come with a 200/50 UFB plan?

Does the router have 1Gb ports on the LAN side? Routers I've seen from ISP are using 100Mb LAN ports.

If the router has 100 Mb LAN ports, then 200Mb on WAN side is wasted.

Honestly..... If you need 200mb/s down and 50mb/s up.... get your own modem. Shouldn't be wasting time with crap modems supplied by ISP's anyway (aside from the fritz!box's as those are awesome)

Snap's Fritz is Gigabit, but not sure how it handles the 200/50 speeds. Great on the 100/50 plan, and it uses the LAN not the WAN. Wonder if the 200/50 trial would be better on something bigger than the 7390.

We use the HG659 still and performs amazing for 200Mbp/s UFB, As you can see via those attached speedtests and video. Very stable too, Doesn't spike or drop.
