Careful there. Recommending someone to gamble with their time and money... I can see things not working well and people complaining about the telco, which didn't want to sell it in first place.



@freitasm Well, no monetary gamble with a guaranteed 30 day money back deal, and I gues complaints from an unserviced address would be easily dealt with since they knew the deal if they had to work around the signup process...

Kinda like the Netflix thread, can't complain to Netflix if your US Netflix stops working as you knew they 'don't support' that anyway? 😆

Supercheapauto club price promise is that "if the product you've purchased goes on special within two weeks, we'll credit the difference direct to your club card". I have had a few times where I find I have a credit to spend due to this happening without me even realising the product went on special!

 

 

 

 

 

How nice it would be to find a $50 credit in my Skinny account (another free month or even buy one get one free would do!)

Ok guys just got off the phone with skinny 

 

lets just say the call did not go well at all the lady of the phone talked to her boss but came back and said they cannot do anything about it and that is the nature of the business 

 

 

 

so i told her that was disappointing and thought they might do something out of good will but no chance she was sticking with it

 

so i also mentioned the forum here and that they are leaving themselves open here a bit as well as there is no reason why i cant use all my data and return the modem for a full refund and order a new one at $149 

 

 

 

but she was not willing to even pass any of that on to her boss while i was on the phone (note she did say she would tell her boss after the call)

 

so at this stage i might use my data and return the modem fairly quickly and either order it again for the cheaper price or see if lightwire can get a decent connection here as the 4g speed is nice but with 60gb only its not that important anything over 10mbit is going to do the job

I'm in the same boat, still on trial, no reason not to return it and reapply, also get another month free that way so they really shoot themselves in the foot if they don't budge!

yea its silly really good will goes along way i have sent a pm to LivingSkinny on here just to see if we can sort something out otherwise worst case from me alone they are losing 4 or maybe 5 customers as i have 5 people waiting on how mines goes and waiting to see if i recommend the service or not (all family and friends) and so far im going to have to tell them yea the speed is ok but i wont be recommending it because of the customer service so far

Hey guys, just to reiterate that our 30 Day Money Back Network Guarantee only applies if you are not happy with your network coverage. If you aren't happy with the coverage at your place, then we note your address as having bad coverage (as we take your word for it) so when you do send back your modem, your address might become ineligible to repurchase in the future.

Seems like a lot of drama for fifty bucks to be honest. Companies are allowed to change their pricing, and if you buy something at one price you were obviously happy with that price at the time. They have not increased the ongoing price, but reduced the capital outlay going forward and its hard to see an issue with that. While some companies may do promotional things like the aforementioned Super Cheap Auto, if every company was obliged to refund customers who had already bought a product then you would never see companies reducing prices.

Well played skinny

On a side note the network coverage does not have to be bad for someone to be unhappy with it

I know that you did not have to do anything about it
In regards to what you said about the latest batch of modems being cheaper for you so you are passing on the savings that is great apart from I have just found out that about a week ago you had the modems for $149 or so I am told by a skinny mobile customer who received an email with a link saying they where $149

Anyway well played sir I was pushing my luck to see if and how far skinny would go for existing customers I don't really care about the $50 so at this stage I will use it for now and see what Lightwire can do at my place

And I will tell my friends and family who are considering the service it is OK it does the job but don't expect any favors from customer service just what they have to do

So all in all not bad service from skinny but definitely not great

But certainly no worse than the other big players in the mobile game
