So when I was travelling a couple of weeks ago one of the hotel rooms I stayed in had desk and bed-side lamps which had power sockets integrated into them - incredibly useful for charging the accumulating number of gadgets that need an overnight feed...

Has anyone come across this kind of product in NZ? A quick Google shows there are a few products like this overseas but I can't see any that appear to be available here.

There are a lot of those type of things that are developed for and marketed directly to hospitality. They can also be crazy expensive.

There are some on and a bunch on ebay/etsy but I haven't seen anything local either sorry :(

You could always just screw a surface mount socket to a flat space on the lamp.
