I just tried (pre)ordering a smart lock for my front door from www.august.com but they wont ship outside US, Canada & Mexico as they're "targeting international regions" later this year, even after I sent pics of a compatible lock mechanism and told them I'd accept all risk.

Does anyone have any other lock suggestions? I'd like something that unlocks as I get near as both the Mrs and I often have our hands full after a day at work and keys are annoying. (first world problem).

Just trying to find an Aussie equivalent that'll take a pre-order, cheers.

Comgateway will if you cant find one in Oz. You dont have to worry about a preorder, just give August the shipping address.

I don't want anything outside that screams "tech in this house".

EDIT: arrowhead is mainly commercial stuff you can get anywhere... I want a smart home, not a commercial premises. ;p

yes but if you hide the bulk of the interface you wont even notice its "commercial " heritage. a standard electronic lock hooked to some sort of hidden bluetooth reciever or even a small rfid or ibutton reader hidden in a doorbell case?
