A TV may overheat if it is in an enclosed space. LCDs don't use as much electricity as plasmas but they're designed to be ventilated.

If you're spending lots of money on heating you should look at the house's insulation. Much of the installed and advertised insulation has a low R value and won't work very well so you don't want to rely that.
