HI all,

We are looking to do a kitchen renovation.

The one thing I can not find is a glass canopy rangehood which is 750 - 800mm wide, the maximum width we can have is 800mm.

We could use a 600mm but I would prefer something a little larger.

It seems that everything is 600 or 900, nothing in-between unless you go for a power-pak which we don't want.

Does anyone know if there is anything that is available in this size, if glass is not available we will settle for stainless.

I don't want to pay a fortune.

Any idea's appriciated

Thanks

John

Why glass?
Will need cleaning daily.

I like to look, they look less obtrusive than stainless steel.

I would doubt that glass would need more cleaning than stainless steel, stainless would probably need more cleaning as I hit my head on them all the time.

Been there, done that and would NEVER recommend glass. Glass not only needs cleaning after every time you cook, it also attracts dust. Stainless does too but its far less noticeable. Stainless is far more forgiving of a smear - these used to drive me nuts. Clean, polish, dry, then polish again to eliminate any smears - ugh!
I agree it looks great but never, ever, ever will I have glass again. I recommend you talk to more people that have had glass hoods before rushing into a decision.

We have a 90cm curved glass hood with stainless chimney over our 90cm oven, no issues with dirt and we cook a lot.  The hood is at about 1.7m height so perhaps far enough away that it does not get splatter, and high enough that we don't see the dust on top.  Kitchen top and ceramic oven gets wiped at least once a day, but the hood only about once a month, sometimes less.

A quick eyeball suggests it is 90cm wide and not worth measuring if it would fit for you.
