CokemonZ: Hey - Daniel here, co-owner of cleverhome - www.cleverhome.co.nz.
One of the things we do is import and sell heatermates.
Use the code geekzone for free shipping.

Yes - NZ suppliers are more expensive, no two ways about it.
We also have the consumer guarantees act and 15% gst.

Also, we're on geekzone!

So.... What kind of deal can you offer? I see goodsteps.co.nz agreed to match the Australian price a couple of years back for some geekzone members at the time...

Definitely keen to get one.

Can anyone tell me if I can set the thing to turn on at 5 degrees, it appears so from the spec but I want to be sure before buying a couple.

Have just checked and yes, you can turn the thermostat down to 5 deg. That's the minimum though.

Here is the temperature graph of our room last night with Heatermate controlling a 14-fin oil heater.
Temperature ramps up from 19deg to 21deg for 15mins and goes back down to 19deg again within 30mins before repeating the cycle.
Heatermate set to 21deg.

I am keen to buy one. Any one up for a group buy or any offer from a NZ supplier to match Au price?

Are these far enough from the heater to regulate room temp ?

Would be cool if it had a wireless remote temp sensor you could plug in on the opposite side of the room.

It's more complicated than it sounds.

Put a new panel heater in in our baby's room on the weekend - just ordered one of these to go with it from cleverhome.
