Hi, been hunting for something suitable and not having much luck.

Our property is fully fenced with a very tall and solid gate. Great for keeping children in and unwanted visitors out. However this has created a problem when we have a visitor that we may not necessarily be aware they are wanting to get in!

Currently we use a wireless weatherproof gate bell which is battery powered but the battery seems to go flat fairly quickly.

The ideal for me is a solar powered option, if anyone is aware of something along those lines?

Would need at least a 30 meter range.

How many volts is the gate bell? I recently re-purposed a cheap solar security light (from Mitre 10) for something similar (not a gate bell though).

I think from memory the battery inside was 3.6V.

You could probably power the bell from that.

BTW bit confused why a wireless bell would be chewing through the batteries since it should only be using power when the button is pressed. Are you sure the unit isn't faulty? Just a thought.
