I need to renew our en suite we have been in our place for 14 years and the existing sanitary ware is getting a bit tired especially the en suite which gets used the most.
So where is the best place to purchase bathroom suites etc with out breaking the bank are places like Lennox Bathroom - Hamilton any good or is it all Chinese stuff which will not last.
Or any suggestions that any one has used and had good service, based in Tauranga but prepared to travel to obtain a bargain!

I'd steer clear of any brands/merchants that seem suspiciously cheap, and go for reputable plumbing merchants like Oakley's - they all do ranges of products (i.e. a good/better/best) and have access to a much wider variety of products and styles.

A lot of plumbing hardware is very subjective, but if you stick with brands like Methven/Caroma/Englefield you can't go wrong.  As you say, ensuites get a fair bit of use, and while you don't mention budget, if you're only swapping out the things you can see (i.e. you're not ripping out linings, and/or moving pipes), then you can hopefully afford to spend a touch more on fittings?

If you're replacing taps too, make sure you match them to the correct hot water pressure for your situation.

We have narrowed it down to either Franklin or Chesters we did see a shower we liked in Mega which already had the nano shower coating done.  What if any opinions on this buy shower with out and get it done, can't seem to find any contractors to do this and how much would add to the total cost or DIY option!

It works well. The two options are Vitroglaze and Diamond Fusion. We had Vitroglaze done on our shower 6 years ago and it is very good.

I had my shower coated with Diamond Fusion five years ago and all I do at the end of each shower is wipe the glass down with a squeegee (must have a silicone blade, not a rubber one - got mine in the supermarket for just a few dollars). There is no water marking on it at all, and I don't have to do any scrubbing.

Stick to good brands that multiple retailers sell,. Zip plumbing is an ok store I have found, although these days stores don't tend to have all that much floor stock, so you have to rely on website images.
