Too new for any reviews. It's just a normal wood burner though, but taller and with ECAN approval.

Consumer Magazine reviewed it recently. Go into your local library and check it out.

You should check that in your area you can install it, as you may need a ULEB instead which are a lot more. I have an akaroa for a new build, but not yet installed, but imagine it will perform as well as others being sold. You can also install an eco flue to make heating more efficient, but they are ugly if you have a sloped roof.

I think this is efficient enough to be installed in almost all ULEB required areas.

Thanks guys, yep no worries in BOP with the Akaroa. And yes, we would go with the Eco flue if we do decide to go with the burner.

We were looking at a Saturn but we like the look and the dimensions of the Akaroa better.
Just havnt been able to find any user thoughts on them.

Thanks for the thoughts

Re: regulations- Well Akaroa is all good for Tauranga city at least, I know Rotorua has more stringent conditions.

This freestanding woodburner produced 16.2 kW when NES tested. It has a predominantly radiant heating mode and is NES (clean-air) approved for urban areas. It has good emissions performance (slightly above average for a NES compliant woodburner) and OK efficiency (though slightly below average for a NES compliant woodburner).

It is very difficult to get reviews on many burners, as many are for NZ only. The other you may want to look at is the Mystique, which has a similar vertical modern look to it, but again apart from reviews on here, I haven't seen any.
