Looking to replace our old shower head. This is just the shower head, do not need the hose or rail.

Prefer to spend $50 - $75, water saver preferably (though some are crap), not to fine a needle spray, round head, silver/chrome, nothing fancy like massage/jet/etc

(Please include website links in posts, TradeMe would be good)

ENGLEFIELD Elevation Plus at $138 is the cheapest consumer recommended shower head. Their recommended is $250. FLEXISPRAY Drench FLX48 is $72 and isn't recommended, people didn't like it as much.

Is hot water mains pressure or low pressure?

Are you looking for the type that connects to a hose or is connected directly to pluming in the wall?

Lots of different ways a shower can be put together?

Hot water is mains pressure & connects to a hose & rail system so only want the head unit

I replaced our showerhead in April with this from M10: https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/stream-shower-head/p/173627 $43

I see that the website claims a 3 function, whereas ours has 5 positions (thick jets, thick jets and normal, normal, normal and massage, massage)

The "and" versions are hopeless and I never use them, but the other three positions I use a lot, SWMBO only does the normal, and I believe she has no problem changing them ...

Pretty sure it came with a "watersaver" washer, I'm not sure if I put it in as in the shower ...Just checked now, definitely didn't put it in.

So far, so good with the head, I certainly wouldn't go back to the one we had.

I think you might find that your "and" settings/versions are just an incomplete turn to the next setting (e.g. half way between two settings).  The shower head will be sending some water to each of the two functions, with the result being a combination of the two functions together, albeit rather weakly.

Or I could be wrong.
