in the dim dark day when I used a lot of conduit we had a spring we used to put inside the conduit and bend it on our knee, you would get nice sweeping bends and very few joins.

Op's using capping and casing not conduit. But the bending spring is definately a good tool for pvc conduit, takes some practice to master though.

Easier with a heat gun... careful not to collapse the pipe though!
