Can anyone suggest a good bathroom heater? Looking for a fan heater, rather than a bar one. Currently have a Skope one, which has a barrel fan, but one of the metal fins sheared off the barrel, and  shorted the whole thing out. But it doesn't appear they make fan heaters any more. This Serne one looks similar to a lower end Skope model, but it is quite pricey for what it is, as it doesn't appear to have the quieter barrel fan in it, it just looks like a normal spinning fan http://www.placemakers.co.nz/products/bathroom/bathroom-accessories/heaters/serene/24kw-bathroom-heater-s2088ss/

I see Weiss make a couple, and the $256 model one appears to have a quieter barrel fan.http://www.placemakers.co.nz/products/bathroom/bathroom-accessories/heaters/  Anyone have experience with this brand, or can suggest another. Looking for a stainless model, rather than white.

I just got some cheapie from bunnings that looks like a cheap fan heater on a wall bracket. Works well enough when I dont forget to turn it off leading to the room becoming a sauna in an hour or so. Perhaps get one with a thermostat to solve that problem?

Full disclaimer I used to work for them, what would you like to know?

There stuff is not bad quality the main issues with returns where heaters caked in fluff and the thermal cut out kicked in.

The tangential fan is nice and quiet they have a pre set thermostat on the back if I remember correctly.

We’ve had a Weiss fan heater in our bathroom and it still looks and works like new. This is a white coated-metal model. Nothing particularly exceptional to report - it is a fan heater after all.

In comparison our Goldair plastic model in the other bathroom has yellowed badly, although it is much older to be fair.

We prefer the instant heat, low power and silence of radiant heating in our bathrooms but they seem to be impossible to find in NZ.  I imported some of these from Aussie a while ago and they have been great.

In our average sized bathrooms the 400W or 800W setting is plenty, which keeps an element or 2 in reserve.
