Hi All, I am thinking to install a new ventilation system in my house to get rid of the moisture build up inside. I am between Smartvent and DVS, both have heat exchange recovery system which i want. i don't want just a positive pressure system which pumps air from the roof space, i want a system to draw air for outside and just extract the heat from the extracted air and mix it with the fresh air.

I am between Smartvent and DVS, do you have any of them installed in your house? do you recommend any of them?

Appreciate your help

Thanks'

Look at Cleanaire. Good technology, reasonable prices. DVS / HRV / mass market places do lots of hard sell and straight out lied to me about the benefits.

There are benefits, especially to a heat recovery system.

There's plenty of threads about ventilation systems on Geekzone, a site search will give you lots of info.

Can't specifically speak about the "heat exchange" system, but we do have a Smartvent ventilation system and highly recommend it.  They aren't so protective like HRV/DVS.  You can buy parts and install yourself, buy filters off the shelf (also easy installed by self), and assemble a system that meets your needs.

Not sure how you extract heat from cold outside air however...perhaps I am just misreading your post

Heat recovery systems bring in fresh outside air, warmed by a heat exchanger by the outgoing warm air already in the house. This is significantly better than just pushing cold air from the roof cavity into the house, cooling it down. Ceiling cavity air can be horrible, my house is pretty bad, so I changed the ducting to bring in fresher outside air.
