Short answer, no not good.
Long answer, no not good stay away.

There are a few threads on here already about cctv, the bands, aliexpress etc.
So long as you know who to buy from you can get Dahua and Hikvision equipment cheaper than local suppliers, however there are a lot of Chinese clones on there as well.

If you never ever want it connected to the Internet you might get away with some of the no name or Chinese clones.
Lastly look at ethernet and poe cameras. Those rca/bnc based camera systems are not recommended.

Cool thanks. Has searched using security camera but not CCTV which yielded more results. Happy for this thread to be deleted

If you explain what you are wanting/needing from a security camera system you might get some advice.

You missed out:

... and don't care about having to power cycle it periodically when it crashes, and deal with false positives and missed true positives, and a million other glitches...

They're really that bad.

Anyone tried one of these? Given the low cost, i was going to give one a go to supplement a Logitech one I have, however, no shipping to NZ directly so it becomes a bit more hassle and expensive.
