I'm wanting to replace my old style switchboard with one of the flush style (and move it a couple of meters at the same time).

Anyone know of any options here for the meters to be in the switchboard (I have two phases)? My meters are currently in the house, on the switchboard. I don't want to move them outside if I can help it.

I've seen DIN mounted meters, but I doubt they will be approved by the electrical suppliers.

Thx

dave

I usually use the EZ-MP8453 or 453D (depending on depth of meters)

Made in NZ

These will fit a couple of meters and 45 breakers?

Do you know the dimensions? Looks like you need a login to see details.

thanks

I'd check with your electricity supplier whether they would intend to supply one meter or leave it with two (a polyphase meter is deeper than normal and would require you to get the 453D)

They tend to get touchy with meter moving/reinstalling and like to replace meters to ensure nothing has been tampered with.

The meters approved by the electrical suppliers are still those bulky things that have been around for ages?

You would think they would move to a DIN mount system that fits into a standard switchboard - too much to hope for?

Yeah, that won't happen unfortunately

Depending on where you are and what retailer you are with they may want to consolidate the two meters into one polyphase meter (still rather large, larger than the standard single phase revenue meters in fact - and deeper)

It'll be something to do with accuracy / calibration / security etc. Those DIN mounted meters can be easily reset or altered if you know what you're doing with the communication BUS on them

EDMI (who make most of the meters used here) make a revenue rated DIN rail one, but only for CT-metered supplies. There isn't really room on a DIN rail to fit the CTs needed for 100A usage, a cellphone radio, 4x (or 8x) 100A terminals, and all the tamper-resistant gear.

You have to use the meters the retailer wants.
