Our  9 yr old Black & Decker PD1200 H1 is finally giving up the ghost. So we are in market for a replacement.

We have mostly used it to clean up cat dry food and tracked cat litter and for those quick jobs like window rail and fly screen rail crevices.

We have looked at:

Black & Decker 18V Lithium-ion dustbuster® Flexi Hand Vacuum $139 - $199

Dyson V7 Trigger $349.99

Shark ION Cordfree Handeld Vacuum WV203 $249 - $299

Any other recommendations please.

I'd like to know if anyone has used the Ryobi One stick vacuum too.

Ryobi stick one clogs the filter in record time, its a pain to clean them out. Things just sit against the mesh and block the flow up. Sometimes turning it off and hitting it will have them fall off the mesh to the bottom of the collection tub thing, but they swirl around and stick to the mesh again.

Also its ability to pick things up is pathetic compared to my dyson. But that has its own collection of problems and now a stuffed overpriced battery because it seems that a balance charge circuit is too much for them to want to put into the pack.

Oops - Thank you - I broke my own rule with this one. I have spent all afternoon googling and in two stores and did not even think to search geekzone before posting.

Though in my defence some of the above are stick vacuums and I am looking solely for a small hand held vac.
