MadEngineer:

I have this vitroglaze.co.nz

Rinse and wipe and done.

Hi MadEngineer,

Does it need to be professionally applied or can be done DYI.  I dont see much info on this from the website?

Our shower glass is about 10 years , can I use this product or it can be only applied on new glass in pristine condition?

thanks

For cleaning of our treated shower glass the instructions are to use "Chux Silver Scourer Non-Scratch sponge or Silver Lady Miracle Scourer".  Can confirm the Chux product works well.  It looks like a nasty scratchy product on the supermarket shelf but will be safe to use - nasty on the grime but definitely has no effect on the glass.

It's professionally applied.  Sprayed, left for an hour from memory then buffed. They're based in Palmy but I'm sure there are other equivalent installers available.

I'll track down one of those Chux sponges and give it a go on my shower. I've tried all the usual white vinegar and baking soda recipes that you find online and none of them have done anything. Also tried using a dishwashing tablet (recommended a few months ago) and that did nothing.

Note that it probably works so well for us because of the coating.  We also rinse and wipe our shower after every use.
