Nope - Surge protected 6 way 10A powerboard with:

 

  • Sunbeam Double electric blanket (used twice a year, maybe) - OFF
  • LED side lamp - OFF
  • Sony Alarm Clock/Radio - ON

Sparky thinks the powerboard plug may have been bent by the headboard causing it to arc.

That or the old socket just had really bad contacts. They tend to lose tension over time.

Either way, I'm glad it was found!
It's not what I expected, but equally bad.
