The only thing I don't like about these modules is the WPS only to connect to the wifi. I've had prosumer AP's that don't have WPS and have had to work around it in the past. I've also found that Ive had to enable WPA2 only (no 1 or 3) when connecting the WPS to ensure reliable connection. Apart from that they work very nicely without any specific firewall or internet configuration.

 

 

Mitsubishi Electric don’t need WPS, I set one up for a client a couple of weeks ago. Their router was an EERO and didn’t have a WPS button. It’s set up through the app.

The issue I have with mine is that the app eventually loses its connection to the heat pump and I have to repair it. However the echonet lite connection still works, so I can use it in home assistant. I'm not 100% sure but I recall that sometimes if I changed WiFi channels it would connect again without having to repair it but I haven't tested that entirely.
