Home Workshop DIY › Kitchen - How do I stop a plug falling down a hole drilled in the cupboard shelf

after a small amount of root cause analysis - my suggestion would be ‘don’t drill a hole in the cupboard shelf’. :)

I don't think your comment was very helpful to anybody.

I initially said this:

Part of this is an integrated fridge and integrated freezer i.e. the appliance doors are screwed to the kitchen doors.

At my insistence, the power outlets are above the appliances but in cupboards above the fridge and freezer.

Anyway, after talking to the electrician he fitted a suitable 'cable duct'.

Whew, It wasn’t intended to be helpful.  I didn’t get where I am to day by posting helpful comments :)

(p.s. One needs to have watched ‘the fall and rise of Reginald Perrin’ to understand the nuances of this post and probably the previous one).

djtOtago: Get a bit of hard board that's a bit larger that your hole, cut a 10mm slot about halfway into it and fix it over your hole with the cable in the slot.

That's a nice one. It could fit against the wall and hold itself in place or scotch fixing tape underneath.

That's one to keep in mind if the hole size is too odd for the standard desk plug things.

The desk plug things still carry a risk the click on cover flips off when cables are moved around for troubleshooting or whatever.
