I was a bit surprised that I can't get Flip at my residential address (according to the address check on their site) even though I'm presently Telecom customer here in Wellington (ADSL over copper). What is Flip's coverage in Wellington?

Hi hasso,

We've got some coverage in Wellington but unfortunately not everywhere. From what I understand it's due to the amount of cable laid by TelstraClear which has reduced the economical demand in a few areas we'd like to be in.

Flip is only available on unbundled exchanges as it used the Callplus ULL equipment. This means it is not available from any address served by a cabinet unless you're willing to suffer from midplan injection issues.
