Hi Fellow zoners.....

Gonna put my five cents worth in here.

My experience with Flip as my ISP has been mixed, i had been with them a number of years and

during that time things were good until the last 12 months.

I had bought a new place and moved house and had issues from day one, Im not sure what went

wrong at their end but things went downhill rapidly, i am aware that Flip uses CGNAT but didn't

experience any issues until at my new address.

Admittedly i was spending nowhere as much time on game servers as i do now, I decided when i

moved in the new place that i would install cat5e structured cabling to maintain good rates for my

BF4 addiction.

The cabling at my place is top notch so no issues there, however Flip tech support started the usual

questions, 1) Is your cable plugged in 2) Is your modem turned on etc etc, frustrating to say the least.

As days / weeks / months went by we tried different modems and other isolation tests, however we had

to start from the beginning more times than I would like to remember due to bad reporting at their end.

What resulted after the lengthy, painful testing in the end was a confirmed issue outside of my property

with no solution, they refused to check the cabinet or request a chorus tech, anyways i was over it by that

stage

Customer service when you need assistance is terrible and no one seemed to want to grab the bull by the

horns, seemed like i was just another number that would either A) put up with a sub standard network or

  1. B) cancel my service, both of which no one really seemed to care.

So  I did "B" who wouldnt? anyways a  good reliable connection is all I have been trying to get from Flip for 12 months.

The fun however didnt stop there, i called about 4 - 5 weeks in advance of changing provider and was advised

by there tech staff to cancel the account once the new one is up and running so that i wouldnt be left with no

connection, this all made sense so followed their recommendations.

My new service was switched on the 9th Feb, I cancelled my connection with them on the 12th February and

contacted them to get a refund for the month in advance i paid for on the 9th Feb. just coincidence that bill cycle

and switch was on the same day.

They told me to pretty much suck an egg, bugger of with your new ISP, another experience of the bad reporting

as mentioned earlier, I have tried to reach them again over the last couple of days to explain but no joy there they

are pretty apathetic in regards to my claims.

Crap customer service, terrible 12 months, CGNAT, avoid.

P.S - My new connection is both reliable and faster, see it is possible Flip, get your kaka together.

Yep, A or B were my options too, and I chose B.  I don't think they actually do customer service.  I think they are a discount option for low users.  Anything more sophisticated and you're better going elsewhere.

Hi OP,

Can you please send me some account details so we can have a look and see what we could have done better?

Cheers, Quentin

Agreed. As soon as you have to deal with them with any issue you get to know how horrid their customer service team is. I was told a fault has been lodged on Saturday and someone will contact me in 4 hours, and I am still waiting.
As soon as I asked to cancel my account to I received an email in which they offered me free double data. Wonderful offer but they forgot that they haven't given me connection for the last 20 days.
