BravoCo: Sorry if this has been covered already, but do we know which games will be On Demand and from what point they will be available?

My plan is to wake up on Sunday morning and be able to watch an overnight game or two Sunday morning. Is that how it will work?

Thanks!

You can watch all 380 games once, live or on demand. of these 250 are available on demand for multiple viewings. you can start watching them at anytime (1 second after kickoff if you'd like)

I didn't realise that. Where did you get this information from?

Everyone seems focused on Saturday 3am.
Sunday (Monday here) matches are usually more important for me to have flexibility on (because of having to work, to pay the subs!)

Very true!

Being a Liverpool fan, I think I am going to have to get the PLP.  Want to see every game and legally the PLP is the only way I can do it.

Not impressed with the quality of the streaming, hoping it will improve over time, I have just got used to seeing the games in HD, so hard to go back.

Well this issue with international accessibility changes things. I had found it odd it was a .com and not a .co.nz.

I think Coliseum are banking on the foreign subs. That suggests and end to the delusions we've all had about people power. They won't care what kiwis think. I don't think sky uk will be too impressed to find out PLPs subs are equal to or more than the entire population of NZ.*

*possible exaggeration for the sake of making a point.

In regards to overseas subscribers using a VPN to access PLP, how hard is it to block the CC they use?

I know myself, using Unblock US, I can use my CC to access vudu.com and Netflix, so thinking it won't be that hard for overseas subscribers to access PLP if they want too.

(I meant sun 3am)
Every big game was on monday morning for me last year. But not being in the europa league this season might help us stick to sun morning more.

Agree with quality concerns, it should be better, but hopefully it will be eventually.
more important to me though is the delivery/interface, it needs to be a simple interface via remote control and require zero standing up. (Don't say wireless mouse.... Actually, come to think of it, maybe that's a good idea for now...)

Still don't know what my granddad will do this season. He wouldn't get mysky despite our best efforts, he still sets his vcr every night to record. He wouldn't be the only old person that is now stuck I'd guess

Are we the first country in the world to get epl online streaming subscriptions?
And surely there are free-er ways to get streams for those overseas

Probably free-er ways, but as stated above the quality of the PLP stream(even though for me it sucks compared to HD from what I have seen) - is better than the free alternatives, so $NZ140 for those oversees with a stong currency I am guessing is a bargain?

Then I think we've discovered further motivation for stalling on hd:
Trying to stay in the shadows on a world scale will keep the premier league from looking too close for now?

I feel like the NZ market is a 1920s Chicago bookshop. Pull back a book shelf and the rest of the world are in a speakeasy watching PLP from Stoke Newington.

Lust, seems like it could play out that way.

I guess it depends how hard the Premier League crack down on PLP to make sure they are doing everything they can to stop overseas subscribers from viewing the service.

ADMC Sport (Abu Dhabi Sports Channel) had the rights for last season, and now AJS (Al Jazeera Sports) has the rights for the Middle East and North Africa. They both offer paid online streaming options. So NZ isn't the first but, for now, it seems the streaming quality is the best.

There's nothing worse than being in Chicago and suddennly finding Stoke Newington behind a bookshelf.
Except maybe supporting Portsmouth.
Yes. That's definitely worse. But Stoke Newington in Chicago is bad...very, very bad.

With some more discussion today about which games will/won't be on demand, the below I posted yesterday seems to have gone a bit unnoticed. Anyone managed to get this confirmed by anyone else?

invisibleman18: Regarding the confusion over the on-demand availability of 130 games and what happens when you lose connection and have to start again, a guy over on the Yellow Fever forums managed to get through to someone on the live chat and this is part of the conversation he copy and pasted:

14:17Julio B.: yes 250 games will be available all season, 130 games will be available on-demand in full only until the start of the next round

14:18Keegan Check: alright cheers. Also with those 130 games can you only view them once? If so, what happens if your internet cuts out halfway through a game, or you wish to watch half a game at a time? Or are they available to view multiple times, but only until the next match round?

14:19Julio B.: you can view them as many times as you can until the next round starts

This is different to what the FAQ suggests, that 130 can only be viewed once. This says that they can be viewed as many times as you want but only until the next round, while the other 250 are available all season. The PLP guy may have got it wrong but if true it would be good for those who want to share a membership with someone who may want to watch the same game separately.

Regarding the FAQ wording.  You could read that as -  you are able to watch "any" game, either live or on-demand  - not that you can watch them "all".  Else, why the need put the 3am games on-demand for starters?

I'm thinking the all games will be live and of these, 250 will be available on-demand - the on-demand window just being available until the next round of games - as the next FAQ item states...
"The window for On-Demand games will be from kick off to the start of the following round, so basically a week, but in the international breaks it's more like two"

So, if that is the case, 3-4 games each week, will only be able to be viewed live - I hope not :(
