Stu: Using UnoTelly with NZ Netflix gives you the ability to access other Netflix regions. You don't need a trial US Netflix account.

Thanks Stu, where's the menu option to change regions?

When I try this on my TV computer, it only allows NZ or US, I can't get UK Netflix?

Log in to the UnoTelly website and click 'Dynamo'. Enjoy :-)

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

As above. You're confusing matters. Netflix account is one for all the world regions. The way to check other regions is to use the Dynamo option on UnoTelly and change there.

Amazon Fire TV region has nothing to do with Netflix account really.

Thanks freitasm, however I am not a Unotelly user. Netflix on my PC allows me to use NZ, without smartdns enabled or USA with it enabled. The inference of what you are saying is that I could manually select DNS servers in the UK and then potentially logon to the relevant region. I realise this is a Fire TV thread, so my question is not appropriate.

Have you set the DNS settings on your FireTV to the DNS of your SmartDNS provider?

Yes and it works fine. I just picked the closest DNS servers for performance reasons. Everything from everywhere works just fine. My problem is purely that I can't seem to change Netflix to the region to the UK.

You need to login to whoever provides your smartDNS service and change netflix regions there.

So, meanwhile, I still cant "install/activate" Netflix on my FireTV.
A friend has suggested sideloading it.
Has anyone tried this?
I sideloaded Kodi using adbfire and a very thorough set of instructions.
Would it be a similar process to sideload Netflix?

You should be able to load Netflix on your Amazon Fire TV.

Make sure your Amazon account is set to US. If it's not then you might have to set it to US and then reset the Amazon Fire TV so it is updated with the new region. Then go to Apps and load Netflix.

Has anyone tried sideloading the FanPass app from Sky TV or got display mirroring working somehow?

UPDATE : Netflix now working on my FireTV.
A fellow geekzoner came round and sorted it out for me.
I needed to make my US address my Amazon default shipping address (my NZ address was set as the default, with US one as an alternative) and then the Netflix app became available for installation.
As simple as that.
Thanks Matt.
:) :) :)

We got there. At least it didn't take two hours. I am sure the 4 year old would have wrecked your house if I had been there longer!

The shipping address setting the region of the Amazon account was the missing link.

Cheers, Matt.

OK, now that I have achieved my primary goals of Netflix and Kodi, what else can I do with my FireTV?
Or perhaps a better question is , what else is worth doing?
