Aha!  I see the problem, the default settings don't include Netflix USA so I was seeing a view that didn't include it.  Once I turned this on it appeared.

You may want to change your spelling of "Argentina" in the settings page.

Yes defaults to NZ only (which is the focus, all the international sites are a byproduct of existing code), Argentina will be fixed :)

Killerkiwi2005: I've been asked about ChoiceTV again but theres nothing there but reality shows
http://www.choicetv.co.nz/on-demand

Yeah, that was me, it's what the better half enjoys watching :-)

Having ChoiceTV as part of LemonTV would make LemonTV the single portal to access all NZ streams.

But then she'd pin all her fav's, and overwhelm my fav's .. <sigh>

Still a gazillion reality shows on the other commercial channels that are indexed too ....  <hint>

Looking for some volunteers,  I think i have the new episode code worked out now so am looking at doing optional email alerts for new episodes on your list?

You will need

  • A pinned list
  • Have logged in via google or face book
  • PM me your login name/email

I have a problem clearing out pinned lists.

By default it seems to login to gmail using KillerKiwis pinned list which seems to have every streaming show listed, so I have logged into my gmail account to setup my personal pinned list.

Tried trimming them down manually, but there are still pages and pages to get thru.

Is there an easy way of dumping pinned lists ?

do you think that is the full list for Netflix NZ?  I really hope not!

The TV content looks really weak,  an enormous proportion of kids stuff and very few big name grown-up shows.
Only around 110 separate series altogether, and some of them are shown multiple times - different versions of power rangers appears in over 10 slots!

the movies look a bit better, although by count there is around 600 movies listed.  That's really not very many at all, and whist there are a few good movies in there, there is also a hell of a lot of 'filler' trash movies I've never even heard of and look like they are 'straight to DVD'

If that truly is all the content available, then I'd say that is considerably weaker than Neon, and not even a patch on Lightbox content.

I hope there's more I would not call it official until the 24th

Wow, awesome job with the international sites, Killerkiwi2005!!!
Now I can show the in-laws what they'll get if they decide to go with netflix. They already have a chromecast and getflix but only cast BBC iplayer from their PC. Now their TV has netflix, I can show them what they'll get from the UK.

Those stats are cooll!  But are you sure Hulu has only 250 shows?

"Hulu has not stated the size of its library, but it is estimated that it has more than 43,000 TV episodes from 1,650 shows, and over 2,500 films." http://www.diffen.com/difference/Hulu_Plus_vs_Netflix

sweet.

Not sure if it's possible, but would be good to split out movies and TV titles.  there is a big difference between a library of 100 movies vs a library of 100 TV shows.

i.e. most movies are about 2 hours long,  but TV can be anything up to something like '24', with 9 seasons for a total of 228 episodes at ~40 mins each - that's around 150 hours of good content that would show up as only 1 title in these stats

Or in some cases, such as with the catch-up services (like TVNZ OD) they might only have maybe 2-3 episodes of a particular show available at any one time.

Or maybe if you have the meta data from IMDB for each thing, you could show the total run-time available?  what do you think? possible?

If you wanted to get really nerdy you could create some rating which takes the total amount of hours of content, and multiplies each hour by it's IMDB rating to get a total 'score' for each service. It will create some sort of measure of quality AND quantity.  :)

ETA: sorry my inner stats nerd is drooling at the thought of that data.  How about average age of content too? or at least the average age of the 'top rated' content. that would be very interesting to see.

Very good point, I think it should show both Hulu and Hulu+
