I will be AirBnBing around Europe for 5 weeks. Has anyone tried accessing TVNZ OnDemand (and TV3 OnDemand) from overseas using a VPN? I would like to keep up to date with the NZ shows I watch.

There are many VPN services, I have used a couple in the past but only to protect myself on wifi networks, not to watch TV. Has any one used them for accessing NZ tv? Can you recommend any to me?

some of those DNS services claim to have TVNZ working etc so might be worth checking that out.

The Hola Extension ( has NZ servers which you can use to watch TVNZ on demand just install it, turn it on when you want to watch TV and select the NZ server - If you want to use a smart device I used Astrill last time I went to Australia on my iPhone and had no issues connecting/using it (Worked perfectly with Optus's unlimited 3G plan)

Any comments made are my personal views and does not represent those of my employer
