Just found this and wondered if this is what SkyNZ has been waiting for to be able to compete against its streaming competitors here in NZ?

Doubtful.  Sky NZ tends to be about 5 years behind what SkyUK launches.

SkyUk launched its updated EPG and OnDemand in 2012  and we're only just getting it now.
It launched a rebranded Roku device in 2013 (a la SlingTV etc) - I doubt we'll ever see this one even though it makes perfect sense for NZ.

These are launched, tested and now old in the UK.  Its not like reinventing the wheel to have them in NZ and yet.....

But until now Sky NZ has been sitting pretty with no competition to force it to innovate. Those days are gone now, so we may well see Sky NZ catch up.
