Media Release: http://tvnz.co.nz/tvnz-corporate-comms/goes-bananas-box-sets-new-content-devices-and-features-added-in-december-6426660

New content
: full seasons of top international comedy, drama and factual series will be available exclusively on TVNZ OnDemand as box sets. Shorts also launches on 1 December, catering to the demand for mobile-friendly, bite-sized video. Shorts will offer an entertaining and evolving line-up of local and international series, new commissions and brand funded partnerships.

New features: TVNZ OnDemand will make it easier for viewers to keep up with the shows they love. Watchlists will automatically update with new episodes of favourited shows. Push notifications to mobile devices will also be available.

New devices: offering viewers a big screen experience, the TVNZ OnDemand app is now on PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4. In December it will also be available in the Windows Store for those who have Windows 10 on their PC or tablet.

Although I have seen most of the new content they will show, TVNZ are doing a good job with their VOD service.

No Android TV (or other TV's for that matter)

When you live your life on Twitter and Facebook, and are only friends with like minded people on Twitter and Facebook, you are not living in the real world. You are living in a narcissistic echo chamber.

Thats sad, but given NZ's limited exposure to Android TV I think we are still in the whats Android TV phase at the local media companies exec meetings. Once the numbers build up it will be the typical catch up routine we all know and love from the locals.

Who knows though, Netflix who is going to be a big player in NZ in the next few years is already on Android TV so if the others want to reach the largest audience they can they will get the AintoG and start working on it now.
