Arano:
rb99: Arano, are you using something called PlayOn at all ?

No I am not using Playon, though I do use plex for my local content.
So far i have verified only the US netflix that won't work with the NZ DNS settings. It will work if I set it to UK netflix under the "Dynamo" option in unotelly (just not the USA version).

I have also verified I can access USA that it works via the US vpn and if I use the Hola Chrome browser plugin (which would use a different DNS server).

I am still trying different unotelly dns servers to see if I can find a dns server that works.

I don't really want to use the VPN (even though i could set it up on the router). The reason being that I have to remember to switch it off if I want to download any torrents.

It's all working for me on PS3, US site, I've got NZ DNS as primary, and the Sydney one starting with 54. As secondary DNS.

It seems to have come back on it's own. I tried different dns settings etc. and just changed them back to the standard NZ and AU dns and went out for lunch. When I got back to normal everything got back to normal except for a one laptop which was ok after doing a flush dns.

Very strange.

My observation today is that Unotelly Netflix service has been glitchy. I have got a trouble ticket open with them to go through it but there have been a few occasions today when it just won't load netflix at all. My Getflix is working fine so if over the next 24 hours it doesn't improve I'll move all my devices to Getflix until Unotelly get a bit more info with whats going on.

I assume they could have just been changing things around recently, possibly due to changes with netflix? Anyway i'll hope thats the case and there won't be too many glitches from here on, I assume things could have fixed themselves for any reason possibly one of my routers recycling their settings (I have an orcon router connected to a Dlink Cloud router which has all the unotelly dns details), any of those could have been taking a while to sync through any changes unotelly make, for now it's working so I'm happy.

I am seeing the same symptoms, it is oddly specific to Netflix US (I can load CA, UK and NZ just fine), I have a support ticket open but I am not really getting anywhere. For me I have noted that it is only one device on the network that has the main issue. UnoTelly is setup in my router instead of each machine.

I have flushed my DNS, changed router settings, reset it (got me a new IP), updated the UnoTelly IP and changed Dynamo settings around. My problems started yesterday where I have made no notable changes.

I noticed this issue last night but didn't try addressing it till today, when everything came back I had had one stubborn tablet / laptop that wouldn't work I guess a few other things I didn't mention occurred that happened which could have helped it along.

1. I restarted it

2. someone unplugged all routers by accident as they share a common mutiboard (only just found out this happened). This took out the Fiber ethernet router, the Orcon modem and the dynalink cloud router I use for global mode and unotelly dns (and subsequently all devices run through).

3. then did ipconfig /flushdns after the laptop had reconnected to the wifi

Though before all of the above happened my Desktop, laptop, phone, chromecast and smart tv all came back and could connect, it was only my tablet / laptop that refused to visit US netflix though it worked when I set unotelly for any other region. Hope the extra detail helps

My problems started yesterday too, and also I've made no changes. Like you could use any Netflix except US until I pointed to Unotelly Sydney DNS. Unotelly support just told me to leave it at Sydney as a work around. Out of interest how are you paying for Netflix NZ Credit Card, Airports card? I ask because 2 months ago I changed to my NZ based card.

I'm not sure I understand did you find the Sydney DNS works or doesn't work and you avoid using it or did you find that it does work and the NZ one is causing problems?

As for my Netflix I pay for it in the US I got it a few years before it came to NZ. I signed up for the $7.99 deal for two HD screens using my youshop address and my NZ credit card.

The Sydney DNS works. Has been stable when using these: 168.1.6.228 and 103.1.187.68

RE the credit card I was just wondering whether they were starting to crack down on people paying with non US cards. Easy enough to identify BIN ranges and stop if they wanted to. I guess we'll only know if the problem grows. At this stage you and I were both paying by NZ Credit Cards.

Thanks if it happens again, i'll drop the NZ dns entry.

I don't think they are cracking down on credit card locations, because using the unotelly VPN never had any problems, secondly I don't think cracking down on credit cards would help them, because I assume if I ever travelled to the U.S I should then be legally accessing U.S content and would be illegally accessing NZ content, they need to lock down the content to where you physically are not where your credit card is from.
