Where do you go for good quality international or domestic news online?

Free ones only. Prefer to read articles than watch video clips of news narrators.

By quality, I mean well written and researched articles about politics, economics, the sciences, engineering, humanitarian matters, and so forth. I'm after articles written by journalists/scientists/those in the know who will research and write well on things that matter.

I'm not interested in celebrity news, reality tv news, consumer gadget news, and sports news. Not that I dislike sports.

you must have seen Google news, enter what you are interested in and it will find all the online articles and list them for you to read.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thanks, maybe that's what the Google app brings up.

www.slate.com

www.salon.com

www.theintercept.com (bound to raise some hackles given the Glen Greenwald connection - but stuff like their investigation into "The Teflon Toxin", about dodgy practices by Dupont, is a good example of what they do and do well)

It'd be hard to beat http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/ for quality.

That looks like the online successor to a US "newspaper" we used to read occasionally in the late '80s (I think) called the Weekly World News. While they tended to favour alien stories, my favourite headline that I can recall was "Grieving parents freeze-dry baby and stand him in the corner". At least that was a bit more tongue-in-cheek...

Actually, reading that Wikipedia link, it appears to be back as an online pub

I can feel myself getting dumber just reading the headlines...

For me, that link has finally solved the mystery of the source that stuff.co.nz syndicates its content from.
