I think I may have sorted it - a 'Parental Control' setting on the router had been switched on...which over-rode all DNS related changes I was making. I switched that off and...it works!!

One small hassle is that I appear to have to switch to a US based iTunes account in order to get the RP app to appear - will be if I can find a solution to this..

My broadband is with Spark. What's the advantage of a static IP?

 Thanks for you help!

I have the RP app on my apple TV and on my iPhone.  I don't need to switch to the US based app store?  Considering it's only available in ASIA i'm not sure what is going on there.

I'm pretty sure you can download the app from the NZ app store but you won't be able to use it without using an unblocking service like DNS4ME.

There are lots of advantages for using a static (Fixed) IP address.  In this scenario it means you will not need to change your IP address in your "zones" for DNS4ME. If you IP address changes, then you will need to update it. - https://dns4me.net/guides

Just tested the RP app on the TV whilst logged in with my proper AppleID which is linked to an NZ credit card and the NZ iTunes store...RP worked! Maybe needing to be logged into the US iTunes store was a hang-over from the old, mixed up setup I had?!?

Strange that the DNS4me guide says set the iTunes Store to US...
