As a matter of interest, where do the channel numbers come from ?
I added your stuff to NextPVR, hopefully correctly, using MH's guide, and get things like -
TV3 = Channel 1
TVNZ1 = Channel 1
Bravo = Channel 2
TVNZ2 = Channel 2
Maori TV = Channel 3
ThreeLife = Channel 4
It could be a NextPVR thing, and they are the defaults it used, but thought I'd ask anyway (if its just me, etc)...

Apsattv:
Using simpletv pvr in Kodi
the default postions in the channel listing are the number i refer to.
I don't know about nextpvr i've never used it,.

It's happening because some of the channels in your m3u file specify channel numbers, and some don't. The channel numbers are controlled by the "tvg-chno" tag. TVNZ 1, TVNZ 2 etc have them. TV3, Bravo etc don't.

I've modified the next build of NextPVR to handle it a bit better, so that you don't end up with duplicate numbers, but it'd be better if you could add real numbers, at least for those key freeview channels. This way they'll end up with the correct numbers for those channels. If no channel numbers are specified by the source, you're effectively going to end up with the next available number. (the user was always able to change the numbers afterwards in NextPVR, but it's nice to not have to do that.

rb99, after that change, this is how the default channel numbers looked from NextPVR.

Thanks sub. Eventually realised it was a no number thing when I looked in the m3u file. I presume the only way to add numbers is too download the file and edit it to add numbers, as you mentioned, but was trying to avoid that as I guess that stops any automatic updating that occurs when Apsattv add or removes channels.

Must admit am also trying a list from MH as Apsatttv's list has some forwarding feature thing and I think it stops them from working properly in NextPVR. Or at least they didn't seem to work too well and that was an obvious difference.

As mentioned, the next build of NextPVR v5 will make it behave better in this scenario where it's a mixture of channels with and without channel numbers. I'll get that build out in the next couple of days (just got to finish some other stuff I'm working on)

Ideally, Apsattv will update his master copy of the file to include the channel number tags though.

I can check this. Are you using the current release of NextPVR v5? or still on v4?

These extra things at the end of the url are headers that get added. Some servers do require these, but that doesn't seem to be the case for most of these streams.

Channel numbers would be nice in general, but I'd probably still end up changing then as I normally have my dvb-s stuff on channels 1,2,3, etc and iptv stuff going 101, 102, 103...

Am using v5. I think it was that but testing was less than extensive...

I really appreciate everything you do here, but every time you change the settings, it screws up the alterations I have made in the Kodi menus. Could you maybe do something like the patch Tuesday to keep this manageable?

The urls don't get edited very often.

Expect some disruption as I will work on it shortly

Ill try to force some channel numbers, say 50-70 for the aussie ones and 70-100 for others, the stirr channels above that and then the pluto tv 200+

Please, can you put PRIME in 360p? Sorry to ask you this, but I don't have a good internet access... 😢

Thanks

Unless Prime streams in 360p somewhere he won't be able to do that. The playlist aggregates publically available streams, he doesn't encode them himself as that would open up a big legal can of worms.
