Working fine for me. I've just watched multiple streams.
These even play directly in Microsoft Edge which is cool.
They open fine in VLC (2.24) streams are hls type
They need NZ i.p , maybe some of you have dns services messing things up..
don't try and open the link as urls in your browser
also not all are active 24x7
also there is a trick for lower resolution streams
example
https://ep02-04snzgen-rio-obsovp-tv.akamaized.net/ovp.v01.b/riohd:v02@20160813@12345/master.m3u8

Working great for me now thanks Apsattv, I had been using your other m3u olympic playlist but this works much better. I wonder how long until these get pulled, as using these streams surely can't be 100% legal.
Paparangi: None of them seem to be working for we, even when I change the numbers, maybe it's just me.
Not that I'm that interested in seeing it myself, but a quick "technical check" showed that it worked for me on Windows, but the same URL wouldn't work on OS X.
Same version of VLC on both platforms.
Go figure.
those urls are working fine here in Aus with a vpn endpoint in nz... (In Edge browser as well.)
I suspect the date might be Brazil time.
ajobbins: I'm now getting 'invalid source' on all streams
It's now past midnight in Brazil, so I doubt that there's any Olympic Events going on at the moment...
There is a stream missing here.
"ep01-03sevgen(or 04snzgen)-rio-obsovp-tv.akamaized.net/ovp.v47.a/riohd:v47@201608xx/master.m3u8" (Better not count as a link)
This is the "Olympic News Channel" A 24/7 rolling channel which consists of back-to-back 30-minute programs as well as two daily one-hour highlight shows.
Anyway, it might be of use for some people, but not everybody.

not working for me.....
I've been finding the ZDF guide handy to find whats on when since the google default one seems to overlap sometimes.
Website converts times to local for you which is handy

If you have any trouble with the official OBS streams provided by Seven or Sky (or other select broadcasters if your trying to watch via VPN or Proxy switching), instead of "master.m3u8", try "chunklist_bXXXXXXX.m3u8" or "chunklist_bXXXXXXX_dvr.m3u8"
Replace the XXXXXXX with any of these numbers to select the type of stream quality.
232000 Lowest
448000
814000
1296000
1928000
2628000 Highest and best quality.
"master.m3u8" has sometimes resulted in an "Invalid Request" error.
Adding "_dvr" at the end gives you the added benefit of being able to watch the whole schedule of that single channel after the live stream ends, but be warned, you'll have to seek to find the start of the event you want to watch, and don't be surprised if one of these pops up.
