I believe my fire tv stick is turning on screen mirroring randomly as it seems to disconnect from the internet and network tab shows 'Connected with problems' When this happens I notice another SSID called FireTV_Direct or something like this. I can put screen shots later.  This usually happens when it's connected t 5GHz.  I have seen multiple posts about this on various forums and people seem to think that it's because of the remote but how can it be when remote uses bluetooth to connect!!  Has anyone else noticed a strange SSID popping up, you can also see it in Wifi Analyzer type Apps on Android with a MAC address and same channel as your fire tv is connected to.  Does that mean my fire tv stick is faulty??

freitasm: I think that SSID appears when it loses connection, not the cause of the disconnection. Similar to Google Chromecast. Check your network, interference, etc.

What is your set up like? Have you connected it to 5GHz or 2.4GHz?  I have Fritzbox 7490 and Fire TV stock connected to 5GHz, have pretty much tried all channels.  So, why would that SSID appear even if it loses connection? I thought that SSID only appears when you turn on screen mirroring in fire tv stick.
