I still struggle with the Klingons, they look silly and the actors really struggle to talk with all that makeup on.

Well, they speak Klingon so I wouldn't understand anyway - don't know if that's the correct pronunciation, accent or makeup... tongue-out

Awesome episode and I can't wait to see where they take the rest of the season.

Episode one was like a B grade Star Trek. I'll give it a go for a while though, I've watched and rewatched all the others, other than DS9 which is pretty monotonous.

I have just started ST-D, Ep 1 was a struggle. The acting seemed poor. Whenever I watch a new variant, its a minor ugh, then grow into it, this  got a little easier towards the end though. Naturally I'll keep watching

I'm the same as you, the first season of most new Star Trek shows the acting seems really bad, but generally gets much better as the actors learn there characters or the writing adapts to the actors. I found DS9 the worst for this.

Really enjoyed it too, kinda of guessed where they were at the end of the last episode and was wondering if it would be linked to where previous series have gone before, happy it is.

I don't know why they changed the look of the klingons  from the classical  Star Trek look from  STNG  to the current look.

Maybe the Klingons changed the way they looked between Discovery and Original.

In TOS they looked a lot like us not the classical Work look.
