Hi all

Had a roku box sitting at home for a while, I recall streaming NFL off it few years ago so thought I'd give it a try.

Few issues on the outset - I've lost the remote, so thought Id try the various roku remote apps on android. No go, because the roku seems to be stuck on Wired network setting which makes the remote working off Wifi useless. Anyone know any workarounds to get the roku back to wifi? Or recommend some reasonably cheap infrared that'll do the trick, to at least get the Roku on wifi?

Appreciate the help in advance.

If your phone and roku are on the same network then it shouldn't matter what is our isn't on wifi. Assuming it's a network based remote, and not an ir app.

Pretty sure they're on the same network - phones on the wifi, but roku on the ethernet from the router. even tried adding the device manually on the app using the IP. :(

Yeah the roku app should use the local network to access the roku. I believe the proper remote is wifi also, but a special wifi that the roku puts out for that purpose.
