No, the android TV app doesn't rate switch. I had to put my Plasma in to 50Hz and man it looks terrible on the interface as it doesn't like it where as the LED in the bedroom is fine.

Anyone found the F1 voices are not synced to the video for the VOD? Just got to the podium part and the voices are all out of sync with the lip movement. Stopped and restarted the stream and no change, still off.

Didn't watch the podium but I did notices it was out of sync on Quali when Bottas had the rugged run on the outside of turn 9. I assume it was just the track side mics being out of sync at FOM.
During the race I did find a few of Crofties comments out of sync - then again that could just be Croftie. =P
Installed the Spark Sport app on in-laws' Sony A1 TV last night (in anticipation for the RWC2019). Watched some of the interviews and old games' highlights. Couldn't really complain about the quality.

Yeah i assume it was like that on the direct stream.
I can also confirm that the switch to 50Hz did nothing for my framerate problems and was equally as bad. Again F1 is passable apart from the fast heli or drone pans but the football has been really bad, practically unwatchable at times.

Kodi with Matt Huisman's Spark Sport addon does that.
I have it working well on an nVidia Shield, 2 x LibreELEC boxes and 2 x FireTV sticks

Ive seen that happen at times at the after race. It was almost always like that in the days of the TV sit-down but usually ok at the end of the race. I also noticed in the McLaren piece, there was no audio for ages.

They reference GZ in the article and paywall it, way to monetize our content!
The crew on tech forum Geekzone have recently been wondering if Spark Sport has dropped its frame rate, making its video look worse on some devices.
One member, Richard Fewtrell, said: "It's not a popular move. I have an Apple TV 4 and the Spark Sport picture quality looks terrible."
The Herald asked Spark Sport to confirm or deny a lowered frame rate.
A spokeswoman confirmed the streaming services frame rate has been lowered but said it was to provide a smoother stream that would behave well on more devices.
That's where the free bit ends.
So I can't see the content but apparently "Spark Sport" have lowered their video quality. I can't see if it's temporary, or why, but initially worrying
They have to lower the frame rate so Spark Sport will play on an Etch-a-sketch (sarcastic laugh)
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!
Love how other countries get broadcast 4K (Supercars et al) and in NZ we get a downgraded 1080 stream with frames missing 😅
Other than what's on NZ Herald, is there an official statement from Spark themselves? Nothing on their website that I can see. Disappointing level of communication in my view.
Very interesting reading the last few pages. I've not currently got the sub (have bought the RWC Pass), but the last few times I've set SS up for someone I've thought the stream looked a bit worse and couldn't put my finger on what it was - the last two setups have been with Chromecasts and I thought the Chromecasts were dropping some frames or something weird and I was blaming the Chromecast.
But possibly the stream dropping to 30 or 25 fps could be why. Hope the RWC isn't going to be like that as the initial experience with F1 for example was really outstanding and if they are going this way long term for device compatibility reasons that extremely disappointing.
