tdgeek: Fair enough then. I’m surprised this was never raised in the many years Sky ran the two feeder series. Now it’s a SS fail/problem/issue

I'm pretty sure this was raised by several motorsport fans with Sky (including Me), If you want to read through the Sky threads you will find the evidence I'm sure.

I understood from the CEO's comments in the media that Spark wants to show they can do better. I think we should all give them our input to help them do this.

pjamieson: Sorry read several pages, but can't read 80+. :)

I have recently bought the new Freeview A2 recorder. Have tried casting Spark Sport from my S5 and it never works. Either nothing happens or multiple different errors.

What am I missing? Is Chromecast the only casting supported?

it doesnt do DLNA casting. Airplay and Chromecast only. If the freeview doesnt do it can't help there..

otherwise user error? ;)

Its supposed to have chromecast built in according to the specs so could be a configuration issue between the app and the chromecast... The Android TV app should solve the problems.

I'm a Sky thread veteran, don't recall it. But its worth feeding back. IMHO for F3 and F2 its fluff, low interest, but with Kiwi drivers thats adds the interest thats required to look at it. For that reason only feedback is wirth it, they must be based on the Kiwi effect

Just because it is of low interest to you, doesn't mean everyone feels that way.

Have a look for GP2 races from 2006 to see why this stuff is worth watching. (there are plenty of more recent examples, but you will know some of the future F1 stars from then). The promise of Internet-delivered content is that you are not constrained by broadcast bandwidth limitations (number of channels) so you can if, you wish, provide more content that is consumed by customers who want it with no impact on those who don't. Spark has already paid for the rights to this content, so the marginal cost of making available to paying customers who want it should be pretty low. The Kiwi effect will help Sparks marketing, It makes it more interesting to me as a Kiwi, but it's not why I watch it.

I have followed the careers of a great number of drivers who have gone on to the top level. Not to mention there can be a lot more action in the lower formula than F1 some weekends.

I understand that you don't feel this way, so be it.

I do want to encourage others who feel the same as me (probably including the Friends and Family of the Kiwi's competing) to let Spark Sport know they would like to see the Practice and particularly the Qualifying for these series.

You are making way too many assumptions.

I watch GP2 and GP3, now F2 and F3. Im quite well aware of the drivers that drove there over many years. Its not of low interest to me. What my opinion  is , that after 3 practice sessions, quali and the race, and 2 F* races that is a LOT to take in. Hence why I never felt a need to want to watch quali for supporting races. We should also include practice sessions? IMHO thats more overload.

While I am active in Sky threads over the years, I cannot recall any discussion for GP2 and GP3 quali's. Must have missed them. The Kiwi presence does make F3 more important for sure. But as I said earlier, no mention of F2 by anyone.

It like having the AB's play a match, and we also have the pre match game. But we could also have heaps of other content as well. While some fans might watch every minute if an 80 minute game, x 2, and we add a lot more content as well, that really also becomes viewing overload.

I will be feeding back to look at Quali's, but my opinion is for the Kiwi interest. If it was me, I'd leave it the way it is, BUT I would add features for the Kiwi boys which would include F3 quali. A NZ F1 Show if you will.

But do feed back also. I'm sure if this was a well known and constant demanded request over the years, we would have seen it. Sky could easily have added it, but never did.

F3 about to start. Have to rewind now :-)

Yes, nice result, shame about Lawson. A fairly tame race, Pulcini looks smart, although racing against general lesser drivers though.

Armstrong raced well, Beckman was steadily reeling him in. Got down to 1 sec then BEC must have made a mistake as it blew out, then gradually rolling him on before and after VSC. Concern about DRS but held 3rd comfortably.

Nope been solid casting and good quality. App usability concerns still there but getting better.

Cool. Did you read my post we the web? Chrome has a 30 second issue, yet its the need of casting. Odd. F2 looks exciting, I like DeVries but the Chinese guy did great

Some trivia. The commentators call the Chinese guy "zoo", or it sounds like zoo. The correct way is "Joe"
