Sounds like the old price increase, it was in August price for standard Netflix went to $16.99.

Yep, clearly Netflix is taking their time extending the new charges across all existing customers - we paid $14.99 last month, and it’s only four days off the next deduction and I have still not received a warning of the increase.

I wonder if Spark will increase their Unplan Entertainment package price ?

Here's hoping the Disney+ app on Nvidia Shield supports Dolby Atmos audio on the 2017 model.

Amazon works but Netflix doesn't. I understand the new 2019 version supports Atmos on Netflix but, sadly, not the 2017 version.

Well US launch is midnight tonight. Will be interesting to see how the servers handle the launch.

Is anyone signing up to the US service as opposed to waiting for the NZ release? Will be interesting to see what the content difference is regionally and also find out how hard it is to sign up from NZ.

Yup I've been on the Netherlands free trial which presumably expires tonight. Planning to take out the 7-day free trial on the US version to bridge the gap between now and the NZ launch.

Just received:

The highly anticipated new Disney+ app is now available on nearly 900 LG TV models produced 2016 through 2019 running the webOS smart TV platform. That means LG customers in certain countries can subscribe to Disney+ and start streaming its incredible content – all accessible in one convenient place – including movies and shows from:

  • Disney
  • Pixar
  • Marvel
  • Star Wars
  • National Geographic and more

In fact, the Disney+ app is available now on compatible LG TVs in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. LG customers in Australia and New Zealand will receive the service next week with other markets to follow.

Completely integrated into LG’s webOS smart TV platform, Disney+ can easily be accessed through the Disney+ icon on the LG Home Launcher on compatible devices. Subscribers can choose from a treasure trove of high-quality on-demand content with unprecedented access to Disney’s incredible library of film and television entertainment as well as exclusive originals including feature films, shows, short-form content and documentaries – including the first live-action Star War series The Mandalorian – now streaming only on Disney+.

The wealth of Disney+ content includes popular films, documentaries and new-and-exclusive series. With over 35 Disney+ originals planned in the first year. Disney+ brings subscribers a plethora of compelling choices such as The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical – The Series, The World According to Jeff Goldblum and the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp, all available now to only Disney+ subscribers.

HDR AND MORE: With support for all major high dynamic range (HDR) formats, LG TVs provide optimal HDR picture quality complete with outstanding color, greater depth and stunning detail. Compatible with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, LG TVs deliver a cinematic viewing experience never before available for the home. The Disney+ app also works seamlessly with LG’s smart TV features including the platform-wide LG universal search and ThinQ AI. Further functionality and integration will be added in the near future to ensure a more comprehensive user experience for LG TV owners and Disney+ subscribers.

“The arrival of Disney+ to the streaming marketplace is an exciting opportunity for LG customers,” said Lee Sang-woo, vice president of corporate business strategy and content business at the LG Home Entertainment Company. “Both Disney and LG TVs support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, so our customers can enjoy the very best content as they were intended to be seen and heard.”

They must have a better dev team than Spark Sport to support all those LG devices.

compatible LG TVs

Even so, it's a win for WebOS.

It's not showing on any of my LG's and one of them is 2018.

I searched Disney Disney+ and Disney Plus and there was no applic for Disney.

I had a look on Apple TV and nothing there either, usually it gets stuff first.

I'm guessing the apps won't show up till maybe the day before release here or maybe even on the day.

I had to get the android one with my US google account, fired it up when at work on my phone on a US VPN and it worked fine. Will put my LG TV behind a router with PPTP to the same US VPN provider and see if it picks up the app tonight. I find that is much more reliable than DNS unblocking services. I have the TV plugged into a junk router and just change the wan side between DHCP or PPTP to get things to be in the US for streaming. Sometimes I forget and then curse xbox for slow download speeds.
