for those people that think spark sports has better picture quality, i disagree with all of you.

You can't disagree with facts.

Oh wait, it's still 2019 isn't it...

How'd you reach the conclusion, your opinion, that Spark Sport is better quality than sky Sport 😬

The resolution is 1080p not 1080i.

🙃 There are so many factors.

Sure. Except the one that's relevant to Spark Sport being inarguably better quality than Sky Sport.

Well I can’t watch my 4k tv at the moment because my 4 yo had taken over watching YouTube. I must say the stream looks stunning on my iPad Pro.

A few have asked where to go to request or see the refund options - https://help.sparksport.co.nz/refund-information-nz-v-sa-pool-match

Clear information with a really simple process is here.
Deadline for refund requests is 29 September.

The quality issue is not necessarily TVNZ/SS either, they are getting the “international feed” off the host broadcaster. Just like OSB give sky or TVNZ a clean or international feed when it’s being played in NZ.

I’ll use an example I know well is the multiple feeds in Supercars.. there is 4 feeds that go out to different providers at Supercars -
Feed 1 - foxtv program and has graphics and all fox’s stuff on it - uplinked seperate from all others
Feed 2 - clean for the teams and internal but is a mirror of feed 1 without fox graphics and commentary.
Feed 3 - skytv with all the sky graphics and commentary if they need - this goes via Sky’s own uplink they have
Feed 4 - recorded for play outs and replays but also for any international feeds that are not live.

There was 2x OSB trucks and a number of portacoms onsite in the tv compound so shows how much goes in before it even gets to other sources.

I haven’t seen any specs around the host broadcasters outbound feeds to the satellites that TVNZ / SS is taking so there could be a quality issue even before it gets encoded and injected into the streaming providers.

Like Nick said there is a whole massive set of cogs in the machine just to give you this.

Think we as a community need to support rather than bitch about it, the survey is a great idea to try and get a more technical help from us than the average user saying nah it doesn’t work

Just got the email with detail regarding getting a refund, you have until 29 September to apply to get a refund. With the refund being $89.99 or $13.50 for the partial option.

The full refund is for amount you paid for the tournament pass initially. So if you purchased it early then its at what you purchased it for.
The partial refund is 15% of the amount you paid for the tournament pass initially. So its going to vary in everyones case.

I must admit Spark has some balls to offer full/partial refund for these not happy. Great customer focus reaction. Surely there would be swearing rugby fans, but I feel for Spark, not everything depends on them.

Watching Italy v Namibia now.

It kinda looks like its back to 30fps, not as crisp as yesterday, before "the troubles".

Just checked on my AppleTV and that is still 60Hz

Btw. It’s raining so maybe that looks not as crisp?
