Paramount are upgrading many of their catalogue titles. Probably to show on their Paramount+ streaming service. Which is good news for we iTunes fans.

Three more just upgraded to Dolby Vision are:- THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE (1962), HAROLD AND MAUDE (1971) and THE TRUMAN SHOW (1999).

Thanks for that I just picked up the Truman Show it’s only $4.99 at the moment. Well worth it for that.

Got my eye on a few of them Bundles. Picked up the Da Vinci Code Trilogy for $19.99. All in Dolby Vision/Atmos. Pity you dont get a discount if you already own 1 or 2 movies from a bundle and just need to get the remaining titles. Still,lots of good deals in those Bundles.

I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get a Christmas sale today. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A STAR IS BORN is available to buy for $4.99, and the latest in The Fast & Furious franchise; F9: The Fast Saga is available for $2.99 to rent or $9.99 to buy.

Have a browse through the Under $5 range. There are a good selection of movies in all categories, although mostly older titles.

Sony have a smash hit on their hands with SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. The film has grossed over $US1 Billion worldwide to date, and is set to become the studios biggest box-office hit ever. A really good result in these Covid times.

iTunes have the movie listed as a pre-order ($24.99), but as yet there is no firm release date. The listing has it as an HD release, but I am confident that it will be upgraded to Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos come release day.

I am contemplating paying full price for this movie, I don't think that I can wait for a price drop. Maybe I'll give it a rent first.

Another film that I am waiting for is the 25th in the James Bond franchise (and Daniel Craig's last in the 007 role) NO TIME TO DIE, This one is expected to be available on iTunes, January 12th. $24,99 with Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos on board.

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Still the same offers as for the last two weeks. Expect some new ones next Friday.

While waiting for the iTunes release of Spider-man: No Way Home, and The Matrix: Resurrections, you could refresh your memories of the previous films in the franchises.

The Spider-man bundle ("Homecoming" and "Far From Home") is available for $14.99 (Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos) and the Matrix 3-Film bundle is available for $19.99 (Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos) Good value IMO.

Nothing much different from the last two weeks. Could be a good time to browse the under $5 and under $8 for that hidden gem.

NEWS:

The Godfather Trilogy, including the new edit and restoration of the third film; will be released on 4K UHD Disc on March 22nd in the US. Dolby Vision/4K HDR/Dolby Atmos.

Which got me thinking that Paramount will upgrade the iTunes titles around that date. The Godfather Bundle is only $19.99 ATM, so its possibly a good time to buy it. Just a thought. Don't blame me if it doesn't upgrade 😀

Movie of the Week: Friday 21st January

THE DRY (2021) [Drama] @ $0.99 Rental or $9.99 Buy (HD/Dolby Digital Plus 5.1))

- CRITICS 90%: AUDIENCE 89%

Federal Police agent Aaron Falk returns to the struggling farming community of Kiewarra for the funeral of his childhood best friend, Luke Hadler. Severe drought has put the town under extreme pressure and the community is shocked but not surprised when the Hadler family is found dead in their farmhouse. While Falk is loath to confront the townspeople who rejected him twenty years ago, the circumstances around the deaths of the Hadlers, that appears to be a murder-suicide, compels him to dig deeper into the events leading up to the tragedy.

Not much happening on the iTunes site. Maybe too soon after Christmas/New Year. Hoping that things will be back to normal by February.

I have a $50 iTunes Gift Card just waiting to be used up 😀

Sometimes i wish there was a way to get a discount, for example a trilogy series. You already have the first one but are keen on the other 2 which is part of a trilogy package on special. I have a few films with this predicament. Sometimes because they didnt have the 3 movie set when i grabbed the first one...or i didnt look to see if it was available(probably this haha)as a set for a cheap price. First world problems i know lol. Am at nearly 200 films in my Apple Collection. Everything from Lawrence of Arabia(looks amazing in 4K/Dolby Vision) to House Party.

I hear you ARIKIP. Many times a Trilogy gets reduced, and I have already got one of the titles. Sometimes it works out as a bargain, even if you do have one of the three.

It would be nice if Apple would discount the Trilogy by a third of the price if you already have one of the films. I'm dreaming of course 😁
