I usually got movie of the week from this thread, rather then Apple TV Application. I’ve only purchased a couple of movies, but been interesting to see which ones been upgraded etc.

Well, I am actually quite surprised at how many forum members use this thread for information. I thought that I was posting to myself much of the time.

I am retired, so I have plenty of time to keep the thread going. So, I am happy to continue for the foreseeable future. Starting with this weeks movie of the Week.

There is an American Tech reviewer on You Tube who works for Digital Trends. His name is Caleb Denison, and I find him to be unbiased in his opinions. He will also post new videos if he believes that he was incorrect in his appraisal of something that he already reviewed. This video is about the U-Turn that he has on his opinion of the Apple TV 4K. I am posting this video, because I agree with his updated review that the Apple TV 4K is the best streaming box available.

The top Box-Office film of 2022 so far (Over $US736 million worldwide) will be released in the NZ iTunes store on April 18th (Monday).

THE BATMAN (2022): The film will be available to buy for $34.99. No rental date available yet. At the time of posting the film is only available in HD/Dolby Digital+ 5.1, but I'll stick my neck out and say that we can expect Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos soon after. or before release date. Runtime is 2:56, so we may need a toilet break or two 😁

Thanks for all the updates you have provided for apples great platform. Appreciate helping some of us decide to click the buy or rent now on many a title(im up to 220 i have purchased). Ill keep contributing to this thread as much as i can as the streaming world booms vs my ultimate favourite the shiny 4K disc slowly fades.

APPLE TV 4K and APPLE TV HD FIRMWARE UPDATES.

The Apple TV firmware updates seem to come at regular intervals. The last update, 15.4.1 was on March 31st.

Its a good thing to keep your little box updated to the latest firmware. The updates are usually just for bug fixes, but occasionally there will be a major one.

You can update manually or automatically. I have my Apple TV 4K set to update automatically. To access the settings, here is the pathway.

Go to SETTINGS > SYSTEM > SOFTWARE UPDATES and select UPDATE SOFTWARE. If there is an update available there will be a message informing you. If not, you will see a message advising that your firmware is up to date.

Alternatively; Follow the above steps, and turn AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE to ON, then you can forget about updating in future. It will be done automatically.

I realise that most owners will know this, but there are always newbies coming on board, so, hopefully, this will be helpful to some. 😀
