Any news on the lineup for NZ. It will be interesting if they pull the Star Trek series off Amazon and Netflix.

So people complained Sky was too expensive.... so now theyre paying more than Sky a month for even more stuff they wont watch ;)
Err, not quite
For example ...
Netflix $16.99, Disney Plus $12.99, Prime $5.99, Neon $13.95, Prime $9, Apple TV+ $8.99.
Total for 6 streaming services = $67, roughly about a half of what Sky was charging per month a year or so back.
It was too expensive!
+ 39.99 for Skysportnow and +24.99 for Spark Sport.

I hope not..

They might have the rest of Hawaii Five-o though. Personally not a fan but others round here are...

And on top of this by the end of the year TVNZ might have their hand out if you want to watch their on-demand content without advertisements.

I think its highly likely they will pull their f"first run" "tentpole") shows back from other distributors,
I would expect the new series of Picard and Discovery to screen on P+. and the other TV titles and Movies to return when the existing rights periods expire... It happened with D+ and their titles, wouldn't expect it to be any different here....
Once HBOMax goes global Sky's future (ex sports) starts to look even sketchier.... Sports will take longer to go global with things like ESPN+ because the content rights are owned by the sports codes, but the trend is pretty inevitable...
Looks like no Paramount + launch here yet

I sometimes feel like we are always getting left out in the rain. Just because we are a small, unimportant country, does not mean we don't have feelings!
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

People keep rehashing this argument. The difference in the bad old days was lack of choice. You gave Sky a big handful of money and they gave you a very limited selection of what they thought you ought to be allowed to watch. I applaud the tremendous explosion of choice we now have thanks to competing streaming services. This is a Good Thing. People should quit whining about the cost of subscribing to all of them. You don't need to subscribe to all of them. If you can only find your favourite choices on six different services, maybe you need to adjust your favourite choices, or even go outside and do something else.
Plus I will gladly pay to be rid of the scourge of adverts.
Back in the day when I had Sky (many, many years ago now) the ratio of ads to content was outrageous and I can only imagine it is worse now.
I haven't seen a TV ad in an age and I am happier for it.

Actually for a small market I think we are quite well serviced by the streaming providers - it is after all about profitabilities.
Oh dear we are going to miss out on some shows/movies. Entertainment which may have or not aired in NZ back in the days of international TV entertainment hard nut bidding wars. I would not like to be a CEO of todays FTA channels, the competition is just too fierce. Even TVNZ OnDemand is thinking about a subscription, ad free OnDemend service. Someone has to pay the power bill. Newspapers found this out.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Paramount+ will be here next month by the looks: Paramount plots NZ streaming launch | BusinessDesk
Most of the story is behind a Paywall but you get the general idea from the bit you can see.
Makes me wonder if their current content will remain on Sky

Wonder if it will have restricted content or will it be the same as the US version??

FYI - if you have Spark Broadband, you can get these two services bundled for $49.95 per month...
