Does anyone know of a Spark Sport apk that will work with the Nvidia Shield TV?
I had been using one for over a year with no issues but as of last night it seems to have stopped working

The app loads fine and I can log in, but trying to play any content shows the error:

SETUP_LICENSE_ERROR: License Error

Thanks in advance

Pete

Hi Pete,

The same thing happened to me last night when I tried to run Spark Sport!

If you go to the website - https://f.mjh.nz/apk/sparksport-atv-1.3.4.apk you will find an apk you can download.

I tried it this morning and it works perfectly!

Cheers,

John

Will try. Emailed Spark Sport and was fobbed off. So cancelled it as no support for Shield. They were not interested at all tbh.

I had the same issue on a Dish TV SV11, which has been fine up to this weekend.  Queried with Spark and they referred me to Sony TV troubleshooting which only told me to do what I'd already done (and what I'd told them I'd already done).  I only use it for EPL/UCL football, so no other real alternative....making do with Chromecast for now.

Hi could some one explain how to install apk to my new NVIDIA shield TV

I'm getting totally confused do a search and all these you tube tutorials and none of them work for me.

There must be an easier way, as its so easy on my android phone.

Been trying to install Spark Sport but can't work it out.

you will need to download the APK linked above put it on a USB and do something called "side loading" on your shield.

Side loading is how you get unsupported/unofficial apps installed on Android TV, not always recommended especially if you don't know the source but mjh.nz afaik is pretty trust worthy

I've used ES file explorer to sideload prime video onto a mi box in the past.

note: just remember "android" and "android tv" are different products so it's not a straight "everything should be easy because its all android!"

Other option is to put the APK file into the google drive account of the one signed into the Shield. Then use ES File explorer to browse to the APK in google drive and install. You will get prompted to allow ES file explorer to install applications. There might also be a setting somewhere to allow files from outside of the Play store.

So - I got up to watch the Premier League this morning - only to see that Spark Sport App on my Nvidia Shieldis saying

To continue using your Spark Sport app, please update to the latest version - with a big green UPDATE button

Which obviously does not work

So now v1.3.4 no longer works.... Can anyone suggest the location of an APK that will work???

Warm regards

Pete

Try this: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1D97TmiVCTW7BhaOcY5Ga5RmfRXrmjfjN?usp=sharing

This was extracted from my Sony X95G Spark Sport version, thinks its 1.23.xxx and I've just tried a stream on my nvidia shield 2017 in the bedroom and it played fine.

You can use mine as its what I've got on my 2017 shield TV.... unless there is a reason you need a specific version?

something is up with the spark sport app.
Google play tells me it is available for my Mi TV stick, but not available for Mi Box 4.
They are both running exactly the same version of android tv
